Advanced Material Characterisation Across Two Construction Projects
This involved a comprehensive evaluation of concrete, steel, and aggregate materials across two large-scale construction and manufacturing projects. The work focused on understanding material behaviour and performance consistency through systematic mechanical testing, including compressive strength, tensile testing, and microstructural analysis of over 80 samples. Quality assurance and control processes were implemented across more than 120 production and site activities to ensure compliance with required standards. Lean and Six Sigma methodologies, including root cause analysis, PFMEA, and risk assessment, were applied to identify defects and improve material performance, resulting in reduced rework and improved process stability. Structured testing schedules and reporting systems were also managed in alignment with British Standards, alongside coordination with suppliers to ensure consistent material quality.
